Sara and Adrian
A very Melbourne engagement session for you today from the girls at Red Telegram! You can’t get more Melbourne than some of the iconic gardens- including today’s venue, the Fitzroy Gardens, right in the heart of the city.
A little of the couple’s story by the bride herself. “Adrian and I chose the Fitzroy Gardens and city venues for our e-session for a number of reasons, one being because we are getting married in the city (at the RACV city club) and because we both love Melbourne and have had many memorable times in and about the city.
I have always loved the Fitzroy Gardens. When I was a little girl, my great grandmother used to take me to there and I was constantly mesmerized by the ‘fairy tree’ and the ‘Tudor Village’. I really thought there were fairies in the tree and I really wanted to live in that little village! The gardens always seemed so romantic and whimsical to me.
Adrian and I met when I was at university, and he would also come and visit me on my breaks and we would sit in the Fitzroy Gardens, which was opposite my lecture theatre.
Our engagement story is a long one! On the day Age proposed, he sent a big arrangement of all my favourite flowers to my work, with a card that said that the flowers were to make up for the horrible bunch he had given me for my birthday a few weeks before.
However, when I went to my car after work, I found another flower stuck to my steering wheel, with a card that had lots of lovely words, and which also instructed me to go to my house, where I would need to choose one of the outfits that he had prepared for me!
When I got home, there was another flower and another card with lots more mushy words and another instruction to go to our almost-finished house we were building. When I arrived, there was another flower and card with the instruction to go inside. There were rose petals everywhere (lucky our place in tiny!) and another flower and card on the bedroom door. I, of course, was bawling at this stage and when I opened the bedroom door, Adrian was waiting for me, looking very spunky and holding the most beautiful ring I had ever seen!
After getting down on one knee, saying some more beautiful words, including the five most important, I said yes!
Age then took me to my favourite restaurant, to see the play ‘Wicked’ and to a lovely hotel for the night.
I was one spoilt girl!”
