Happy Monday Polka Dot Bridettes! Yes I know it’s hard to raise those weary limbs out of bed but I promise you- this week will be worth it!

As with every Monday morning, it’s time to do a little boasting and show off our fantastic members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory! We’re continually thrilled with our directory members who produce such amazing work- in fact one of these week’s brides found two of her vendors through our directory and fell in love with them,  so take a peek your perfect vendor might be right there waiting for you!

This week’s vendor is all about the imagery! She’s straight from New Zealand and brand new to Melbourne! Erin King Photographer is owned by the lovely Erin King. She studied photography and is a member if the NZIPP . With five wedding seasons under her belt and having just landed on Australian shores, she is eager to start shooting Aussie weddings!

Erin has a relaxed  joyousness to her photos – her couples just look so simply full of happiness in every shot!  Erin describes her style as “Captured moments , Endless energy, Raw emotion Intimate detail” and I see every bit of her in her work. I’m so excited that Erin is in Australia and can’t wait to see the work she produces!

To learn a little more about Erin King Photographer,we asked Erin five questions in five minutes!

What is your favourite after five drink?

A nice sweet Riesling or dessert wine on the rocks – I actually found a lovely one called Frogmore Creek which borders on the two together.

Your favourite weekend getaway?

Being new to Melbourne I don’t have one yet, but am open to suggestions. However from Wellington it would have to be Martinborough – 1.5 hrs drive over the hill to the idyllic wine countryside (also a very popular spot for wedding venues)

Favourite restaurant?

There are so many to choose from and so many I’m yet to experience, but I found the Hutong Dumpling Bar, Market Lane, Melbourne to be a really fun dining experience and the tastiest dumplings I’ve had yet!

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Normally I indulge in the cafe culture on weekends. As long as breakfast includes good coffee and Halloumi then I’m happy.

Your favourite wedding story?

It’s always nice when you can photograph friends’ weddings or even become close friends with the bride and groom in the process, it’s really nice to have that connection. One of my favourite couples and wedding coverages is Colin & Ansa Kennedy. This couple is just SO in love and are absolutely lovely together – so suited. I think Colin had been eagerly anticipating this day for quite some time as he couldn’t hold back the tears at the rehearsal (almost got me going). We got on really well together from when we first met, (Colin often has me in absolute hysterics) so well that we all became friends after their wedding and now go out together on the occasional coffee or drinks date. I have so much respect for them as a couple and am looking forward to our continuing friendship and seeing their life continue to grow together.
