Lisa & Johnny
I can’t tell you how blown away I was by Lisa and Johnny’s amazing wedding. It was a blend of colour, culture and love with the most stunning imagery before my eyes! It’s a mix of vibrant Indian colour and traditional Jewish elements, all on the shores of Western Australia.
Lisa and Johnny spent eight months prior to the wedding living in India and Lisa says “Our main idea behind the wedding was that it would be small and simple, a celebration with our nearest and dearest without getting too carried away and over the top with a big budget wedding.” The couple married in Perth and celebrated all weekend with their international guests. “We planned a whole weekend full of festivities, with a Thursday night welcome dinner, a massive Friday night dinner for 60 guests, a picnic at Kings Park for about 80 guests (fully catered with salads, sandwiches and sweets!) and then the culmination of it all, our wedding on the Sunday.”
Johnny wore a Saba suit while the groomsman wore floral shirts from Politix. and the bridesmaids wore violet purple gowns from Sheike. Lisa wore Lisa Ho. She says “My dress was bought off the rack in a Lisa Ho store a whole year before the big day. I was always sure I wouldn’t wear a typical bridal gown – and I loved that this dress was easy, no fuss and still so beautiful and elegant.
I was undecided on the veil, but about 2 months before the day decided I might as well wear one, we had to get it dyed to complement the silvery grey colour of the dress and I was SO happy I wore it, I felt it just added a touch of “bride” to the ensemble.” Thiana Sperry styled Lisa’s hair and makeup.
Lisa and Johnny were married in a Jewish ceremony at the Indiana Tea House in Cottesloe, They bought a beautiful tablecloth in India (which they now use in their home) for their chuppah. They also had the head coverings for the men (traditional for a Jewish ceremony) made in India.
Lisa walked down the “aisle” to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz played live by two members of Bootyjooce. One of Lisa’s favourite moments was having her parents stand with her under the chuppah.
Lisa and Johnny’s ceremony was performed by Ron Samuel.
Check back this afternoon for Lisa and Johnny’s colour filled reception!
The Indiana Tea House is a magical choice for a reception. Cott would have to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
Maybe one for you IT guys who set up the site for you. It seems to post your posts twice (I’m using IE7 if that would help them).
Thanks Billie! We do know- it’s showing up twice for everyone! Our developers are on it!
