Today’s beautiful wedding of Emma and Nick took place at Emma’s parent’s property in Wherroll Flat on the NSW mid-north coast the coastal forest set the scene for the wedding day.

Amidst the beautiful lake, the green, luscious trees and wildlife, the couple said their vows. I’m thrilled to be able to share such an intimate celebration today on Polka Dot Bride!

Emma and Nick chose to marry at Emma’s parents place as they both grew up in the country. Residing in Sydney they found the quiet, peaceful nature of the venues they chose to be almost spiritual- something which was remarked upon by many of their Sydney friends.

They also found the choice to marry in the country very budget friendly, estimating they only spent a third of what they would have in Sydney!

Today’s photography is by Lana Bell a childhood friend of Emma’s.

With torrential rain the night before the wedding, everyone was nervous. But the wedding day brought sunshine! The ceremony and morning tea was set on a creek bed

During the ceremony, the fairy dressed flower girls (Nick’s nieces) had a surprise for Emma and Nick. They held a “fairy blessing” for the couple and blew bubbles onto them before they exchanged their rings.

Just married! After the ceremony, guests gathered for a morning tea of scones with freshly made jam and cream, cakes and slices.

Before the ceremony, the creek bed was salted to prevent leeches, due to the torrential rain the wedding party was lucky to only have one leech! Luckily it attacked Emma’s girl friend who has been swimming in that very creek with Emma many times before and so wasn’t fazed.

Check back later today for the beautiful shots of the newlyweds and their reception!
