It’s been such a gloomy week it’s hard to think of marrying outdoors. But Scottish couple Stephen Tierney and Claire Tullan, from Scotland became the first to marry on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Although the bridge has seen hundreds, if not thousands of proposals, Tuesday the 3rd of June saw the first ever wedding.

There was no veil to be seen, with the couple donned in the lovely grey bridge climb jumpsuits and rain jackets. They exchanged rings using the BridgeClimb’s secure ‘ring exchange device’ 134 metres above Sydney Harbour.

The couple were surprised by close family who braved the heights and climbed the bridge to be present during the ceremony. They will celebrate with extended family and friends in a celebration in Scotland after their Australian honeymoon.

Here’s the happy couple (I wish Sydney had put on some glorious sunshine for them!)
