This setup allows for seamless integration of digital projections on walls, tabletops, and dance floors, enabling unique, personalised event experiences without the hassle of temporary setups. From recreating fairy tales to iconic destinations or even bringing missed loved ones into the celebration, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy Dotties!
Event creator Nudo‘s North Melbourne venue, Two Ton Max, has a brand new look. And it’s, quite literally, “pretty lit”! In an Australian first, Nudo has teamed up with digital creators Immerso to swathe the blank canvas that is their industrial warehouse venue in light projections of whatever design your heart desires.
Now, digital projections at events certainly aren’t a new concept. But the difference at Two Ton Max is that this installation of a plethora of projectors is permanent; meaning the service is always on offer with minimal hassle.
“We can now transport our guests into a world instantly. There’s no big operational process…just pure creation and imagination,” says Nudo CEO and co-founder Will Campbell.
There’s no need for project scoping, bump in, bump out, mapping, specialised outside contractors and endlessly tedious fiddling around for each event or a change of venue. This install is already in place and designed to be seamless across walls, tabletops and dance floors. So a fully immersive visual experience is now far more accessible, more affordable and easier to implement for any adventurous couples, event planners and stylists who want to get truly creative.
So Immerso will help you to design any projection experience you wish. The other aspect to make your event feel cohesive is that Nudo’s all-in-one event team specialise in styling the space and whipping up a menu to complement what you and your guests are seeing.
“Nudo’s vision is to represent the world’s most inspiring moments in incredible spaces bringing boundless imagination and redefining event experiences…tell us your dream and we’ll bring it to life with visuals, food and drink design, event styling and storytelling,” says Will.
For a wedding, you could do something as simple as bathe the venue in your favourite colours or patterns or change the mood from day to evening to night as you move from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception party. If you’re a couple that is passionate about scuba diving together you could invite your guest to go “under da sea”. You could have your first dance under a starlit sky, complete with shooting stars, without worrying a zip about Melbourne’s fickle weather (or summer’s unavoidable mozzies for that matter).
This experience could be particularly touching if you are blending two cultures or have lots of guests travelling from overseas; simply dress one half of the room with iconography or locations that represent your families. If you two have a big personalities, why not have project amusing, larger-than-life versions of yourselves welcoming guests, dancing and kissing all night long? Or tell your shared love story in images over the duration of the event? Your friends and family will never forget it.
More ideas to inspire you using Nudo and Immerso’s new immersive experience:
- Versions of missed loved ones who are far away and unable to make it along could pop up randomly for surprise experiences throughout the reception.
- Love fairytales? Have Cinderalla-style cartoon blue birds and woodland creatures scattering playfully about the room.
- Take inspiration from the Tiny Chef craze by having a miniature digital chef “help” to serve each course.
- If you have an relevant Asian background, you could fill the sky with a traditional lantern ceremony.
- How about a Renaissance-themed wedding where cheeky cherubs playing tricks on guests?
- Epic fireworks are no problem – even on total fire ban days – at Two Ton Max.
- If you’re honeymooning in Venice or Tahiti or New York, you could invite all of your guests along with you for the night.
- Met at a music festival? Recreate that party atmosphere (no gumboots or sunburn allowed).
- Of course, you can now get married in the Gardens of Versailles right here at home. Why not!
The possibilities for magic are near limitless.
