Creating a wedding that is memorable and unique often requires you to infuse some personal touches that reflect your individuality and creativity. While venues provide the foundation, it’s the special details and thoughtful elements that transform a celebration into an unforgettable experience. Today on Polka Dot Wisdom we have the wonderful Pip of the Tindarra Resort events team sharing great tips on how to personalise your wedding venue. Here’s how you can tie in all those special details and thoughtful elements that can transform a celebration into an unforgettable experience. From innovative décor ideas to modern twists on traditional guest books, and from personalised favours to engaging MCs, these touches are what make guests reminisce long after the day has passed. Enjoy dotties!
All wedding venues have a way of providing the basics, but it requires your personal touch of creativity to make your dream vision come to life.
People tend to always reminisce on the small things at a wedding, I know people always have something to say about the food or the line at the bar but at the end of the day, personal creative touches at a wedding always make people go oh wow I wish I had thought of that…
Decor
In terms of decorations, recycled jars for flowers are completely on trend, especially if you have collected them all yourself. Why not grow your own flowers for your wedding day. How cool would it be if you could say that they were all grown in your back yard?!
Repurposing something old, into something new is what I want to see more of. We had a couple that used their old barn doors from their farm for their welcome sign and more to really set the creative bar high.
The Guest Book
The old ways of a guest book are starting to leave, how about you find a creative way for your guest to leave behind messages for you during your wedding, from being able to sign a plank of wood, that will end up being displayed in your home or even a simple drop box for photos and special messages. The red hot thing at the moment is the ring dial phone, call up your wedding couple on an old dial phone and leave them a voice message that they will later receive. How cool!
Favours
Even when your guests are leaving make them want to take home your favour, I notice anything food related is walking out the door. I had a couple use a family relish recipe as a thank you and it was a truly personal touch. Personalise a chocolate bar with your names, give them your favourite lollies to make your wedding last longer then just the day through these little memories.
MC
Not only does your space have to look good but it needs to feel good, therefore when choosing an MC, get someone that knows the room, knows you and can create an atmosphere that never gets boring. Although it is your night to shine, the MC deserves their little spot light to help carry the night.
The best MC I have ever seen pulled the simple stunt before the reception entrance, of asking the guests to send their best advice for a happy marriage to a phone number. I have never seen a room light up with so much laughter then when he later read the responses out, and please be mindful there was no line that wasn’t crossed.
In the end its up to you and how you choose for your wedding day to shine, your venue and suppliers will always guide you but the magic will come from you.
