Describing their wedding day as “Western fusion” Noordiana and Austin blended their Malay culture, with a western celebration. The day kicked off with the couple in traditional Malaysian dress, taking part in a Malay Muslim ceremony, before they changed it up, switching to classic black tie glam as they danced the night away with their favourite people.

With all the glamorous details (including inside fireworks!) if there ever was a wedding full of celebration this story is it! And it’s all beautifully captured by Manis Moments.

After meeting through one of Noordiana’s best friends (who happened to be Austin’s sister!) the couple first laid eyes on one another in 2013. It wasn’t, however, until seven years later, when that same best friend/sister hosted a birthday party – this time, the pair hit it off and it wasn’t long before they realised they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

Austin popped the question over a romantic dinner, asking the kitchen to send out dessert. A plate with a single question mark drawn in chocolate sauce bemusing Noordiana until she saw Austin down on one knee. “I took photos of giggling like “what, why is there a question mark? So silly *giggles*” she laughs.

The couple chose Everafter Productions to capture this beautiful film of their day.

Noordiana wore  a stunning marsala and golden outfit for the Malay ceremony. “We both decided on traditional Malay outfits for the ceremony and traditional westernised attire for the reception.” She explains “We wanted two outfits for the day as a fusion wedding.”

Austin also went with tradition, Noordiana telling “At the ceremony, Austin was dressed in a gold and dark red traditional Malay attire including a real sword on the waist. He wanted to dress in an almost royal fashion as this was the perfect day to pull it off.”

Noordiana and Austin chose Joondalup Resort for their wedding, the bride shared “Joondalup resort was the best one for our budget and to cater to our 140 guests”.

The best compliment Noordiana and Austin’s photographer Naz,  could get, goes a little something like this. “He’ll get you from every candid angle taking shots with his two cameras simultaneously slung from leather holsters like pistols in a western shootout.”

The three-tiered cake designed and made by Cakes By Dark Cherry was not only a favourite detail of the couple’s night but the tasting and designing stand out as a favourite of their planning!

Noordiana and Austin entered their dinner reception to the festive sounds of a Malay drums performance (Kompang).

Complete with inside fireworks, the newlyweds took to the dance floor to the sound of Mariah Carey and Brian McKnight’s “Whenever you call”. Noordiana remembers “We freestyled our first dance – it was fun!”

A big, beautiful congratulations to the newlyweds! Thank you for sharing the stories of your day with us. Thank you also to  Manis Moments for today’s beautiful moments.
