Canada is downright showing off these days when it comes to beautiful, modern wedding gowns that tick all the boxes; and when it comes to inclusivity and thankfully, Vancouver designer Laudae has dropped their 2023 collection to keep raising that bar higher.
With six new gowns to add to the growing Laudae collection, this is a sign of 2023 we’re thrilled to welcome. In years gone the brand has embraced the on-trend bohemian styling, but in 2023? This is the year that they’re going sleek, elegant, and even a little bit minimal in design. Founder and creative director Gaby Bayona led entirely by her customers. “Our designs are always guided by the wants of our brides and retailers. Accordingly, in this collection, we see an emphasis on comfort and truly trend-setting design elements take centre stage.”
There’s “Micah” fitted with shoestring straps and a light, botanical-inspired lace, “Harley” a high-necked mermaid gown with beautiful back button detail. “Charlie” embraces the love of the slip with a modern silhouette, while “Addition” is a little more romantic with a fitted shape and sweetheart neckline.
With lighter laces and an emphasis on making gowns as comfortable as possible, while they’re more paired back than other collections, there is still a focus on making these gowns wearable. Size wise? These gowns go from size 0-26 (and the campaign, which is quite frankly a summer dream is shot on both a size 2 model and size 22 model) the gowns into just sized up or down, but built for their wearer with customisations like additional boning for support, stretchy linings to make each gown comfortable to wear. That’s what happens when you fit-test your gowns folks!
And Laudae also keeps sustainability at the forefront of their mind (even turning the lights off in their studio where gowns are designed & made during Summer). “It remains a priority for us to ensure that all brides feel sexy, empowered, and truly themselves when they wear Laudae,” says Gaby “We’re committed to embracing size diversity with this collection, and every collection.”
