Kia ora koutou!
When we focus on a specific country or region for our theme issues, it really does allow us the chance to delve into what makes that particular place so wonderful for weddings. And New Zealand is absolutely no exception. August is the New Zealand Issue, and we’re bursting at the seams to share all we’ve discovered about this wild & wonderful country, deeply steeped in tradition, culture, and, of course, love stories!
Soaring, breathtaking scenery, with remarkable (see what we did there?!), snowy mountaintops for wedding shoot backdrops, rolling greenery, and moody landscapes that set the vibe for truly romantic & striking weddings. And that is just the New Zealand landscape! The people are incredibly warm & generous, the food is out of this world, the language is lyrical, and the weddings are, well, in a word? Epic. And that’s exactly what we’re going to share with you for the August Issue at Polka Dot Wedding as part of The New Zealand Issue.
The specialty blogs are packed with Māori cultural wedding traditions and how to incorporate them into your day to pay homage to your, or your partner’s heritage. We look at designs for your wedding stationery that incorporates native nods to New Zealand, learn how to plan your epic Heliwedding elopement, all the info you need about your wedding flowers in the NZ climate & how to choose native flowers for your day. Feel like having an adventure on your honeymoon!? We plan your bucket list agenda for our adventure holiday on Polka Dot Honeymoons! Or need a guide to honeymooning on the South Island? We’ve got you covered! And we learn how to plan a wedding in New Zealand from Australian shores with one of the Polka Dot real brides, Holly! All this and much much more for our The New Zealand Issue.
And, as always, we have so many wonderful weddings coming your way for all the stunning New Zealand wedding inspiration you need to get dreaming & planning! And not only that, we even have The New Zealand playlist for you to enjoy!
We felt this particular line from the lovely Philippa Thomas (New Zealand wedding celebrant!) in Te Reo Māori (the Māori language) was fitting for the beginning of The New Zealand Issue…
Ko te mea nui ko te aroha.
The greatest thing is love.
We couldn’t agree more. Please enjoy The New Zealand Issue
