I don’t know about you, but oh how I am in the mood for some whimsy to end off this first week of May and well, did Katie of Wilde Blou Photography ever deliver!
Set in South East Queensland, in the middle of the countryside, today’s editorial plays all the right notes. A sweet and gorgeous pink fluffy wedding gown, heart-shaped sunglasses, flowers the colours of sherbet toned ice cream, and even the sweetest retro car. It’s every retro-loving heart married with modern, of the moment styling and the combination is utterly whimsical.
Says Katie “I was first inspired by Esme Fleur’s colourful bouquets & my newfound love for film photography. My partner & I recently began buying & restoring old film cameras & testing them out at shoots & so with a burning desire to work with Esme & her colourful works of art, plus the need to create something special with my new film cameras, I was inspired to create a retro, wedding wonderland with all things quirky & colourful.” The flowers, styled by Esme Fleur bring to life a retro pretty colour palette of a lender, blush pink, apricot and zesty orange. Poppies, agapanthus, ranunculus and roses are just some of the blooms styled to make the floral details the perfect mix for the vintage garden party.
The details are just as delightful. Karlee Sorgenfrei in a fluffy, floofy pink Asos gown, her “groom” Nathan, dressed by Johnny Bigg. Furniture pieces from Willow Wood Hire follow their path from the ceremony, to reception, to lounging with coupes of bubbles amongst the blooms. The retro treats continue with the icing on the cake (but of course) a pink and red heart-shaped wedding cake from The Cheesecake Shop Browns Plains.
