The Sunshine Coast has a special kind of light, it’s a little bit golden, it’s a little bit creamy, and it makes for the most magic of photos. Especially when it comes to engagement sessions! Today we’re diving into the story of Mick and Nat, captured during a beautiful Sunshine Coast sunset, on Emu Mountain, by Life and Love Photography
After meeting through a mutual friend on a night out in Gladstone, Mick and Nat hit it off immediately. The ease of conversation? A definite highlight, but it was the dance floor moves that really bonded these two for life, laughs Nat, “Mick is not much of a dancer but Nat got him up dancing with her later that night and there may have been a cheeky kiss. We did exchange numbers at the end of the night and after messaging made plans for a proper date a week later.”
Mick paid homage to one of the couple’s first-ever dates when he decided to pop the age-old question. “One of our first dates was a day trip to Byron Bay and Lennox Heads and included a walk out to the most eastern point of Australia lookout and ended with a trip up to Mt Cootha where we also got to enjoy some fireworks in the city which was a nice way to top off the night and Nat always said it was her most memorable and favourite date.
Mick always had that on his mind when thinking about planning a proposal and after lockdowns planned a trip down to Byron Bay again, snuck the ring box in his pocket to go and enjoy the sunset before dinner and walked up to the eastern point lookout to ask the big question, as the sun was setting. We then made our way down to dinner to have our favourite food of seafood and cocktails, it was a really lovely night together.”

Nat and Mick love so much of their life together, Nat remarking “We are both very supportive of each other and those around us and sometimes put others before ourselves. We share a love of travel.
I love Mick’s puns and always trying to make people laugh, and we’ve how our values align and we both make the effort to work through things.”
Says Nat “Lee our photographer is so talented and the best in the business. She is so much fun to shoot with and always so bubbly and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our engagement and wedding day as the photos are absolutely incredible.”
