It is becoming more and more common for wedding venues to ban paper confetti and rice, and there is nothing worse than tiny pieces of paper blowing into the atmosphere, so these eco-friendly options all either dissolve in water, to naturally break down. Scroll on to shop.
The name says it all with this team! Owners Cindy and Michael source beautiful confetti that’s biodegradable, in bright and fun colours (even metallic and foils, so difficult to do in an environmentally friendly way) and they can even make your custom blend. If paper and foil aren’t your jam, Eco Confetti also sells flower petal options (like hydrangea petals!). And yes, even their packaging is sustainable,
There is leaf confetti and then there is the beauty that is Blue Mountains eco confetti. Chief confetti maker Amanda has a background in floristry and is this knowledge of the natural world she uses to create beautiful eco-friendly confetti mixes. Seasonally produced, Amanda uses eco glitter, rose petals, locally sourced leaves and flowers. Confetti is available to be purchased in bulk, or in individual eco-friendly packaging ready to toss.
While fresh rose petals are the core heart and soul of Simply Rose Petals, their freeze-dried options come into their own when it comes to eco-friendly wedding confetti. Biodegradable, and able to be stored well in advance for your day, there are plenty of colours to choose from. The best part? These rose petals are grown and picked right here in Australia.
Wedding floral designer Helena Rose is a must check out when it comes to beautiful petal confetti. Helena hand-picks each flower head and then sorts them into mixes. You can choose by the colour- colourful, pink, red, sunset. Or by flower type – baby’s breath, hydrangea, Chrysanthemums and more. Fresh petals are available in Brisbane, while dried can be sent further afield.
Want the more traditional style confetti? Confettified has eco-friendly and biodegradable options available in a whole host of bright colours (and even in confetti canons for extra pop).
Bio Confetti has plenty of colours (and classic white) available in their eco-friendly, sustainable confetti. The confetti is water-soluble, dissolves and is even packaged in eco-friendly packaging of 100% biofilm. They send Australia wide and to select countries internationally.
Based out of NSW, Raining Hearts Confetti makes wedding day confetti out of leaves and foliage. Don’t think you’re limited to just leafy greens though, this company uses all kinds of leaves including maples and nandina leaves for pretty hues of green, red and yellow.
A whole host of wedding goodies are available at The Whole Bride so why not eco-confetti? In multi colour discs or classic white, the tissue paper used is biodegradable. You can purchase your cones and a stand here too!
Made of Aussie gum leaves, Econfetti run by Jemma, handmakes confetti out of South Australia with her grandparents by her side. Each is hand-punched by the trio from local fallen leaves and foliage and then? Delivered right to your door. If you choose the packaged option, your confetti will arrive packaged in eco-friendly pure pine wood cellulose bags. There are leaf name tags, confetti cones and even full confetti station setups available too.
