Renee prides herself on capturing your day in an authentic and honest way, but you can see from her images that there are a lot of fun moments, stolen moments, and sunset moments that are unique and beautiful to each wedding she photographs. Renee is also intent on capturing the emotions and beauty of your day no matter how small or lavish your wedding is. And that’s the magic she brings to each and every wedding she photographs.

We asked Renee of Two Wild Hearts five questions in five minutes:

Weddings are the best to work on because….
of all the people I get to meet. I am a social butterfly and it feeds my soul! Not only do I get to work alongside some incredibly talented wedding vendors but I also get to hang out with amazing couples and their families!

What is something people would be surprised to know about your job or something that challenges you about your job?
You would think that a photographers job is just to take pretty pictures and drink coffee but that only happens about 40% of the time (OK maybe a bit more on the coffee front haha). I would love to say being a photographer is all…. ‘glamorous couples and incredible locations’… but most of the time I am stuck behind my desk doing admin, replying to emails, editing galleries etc. There is soooo much admin behind the scenes that goes in to running a small business, which is not so glamorous!

What is it about the creative process that you most enjoy?
I love getting couples to come out of their shell. I thrive from it. If I am working with a couple that tells me they feel awkward or they don’t like the camera, I make it my mission to make them comfortable and get them absolutely incredible photos they love.

What are you hilariously bad at?
Singing. I think I’m pretty great but apparently when I’m belting one out at the top of my lungs I’m actually not so great?

When you were small what did you dream of being and where have those dreams taken you?
To be honest, when I was a teenager I dreamt of being a photographer for National Geographic. My dad had a subscription to the magazine and I would sit there for hours pouring over those pages in our loungeroom, dreaming of running around in far off locations, taking photos of animals and people. So I’m half way there… I’m a photographer but not on the pages of National Geographic just yet! Dream big right?!
