Engagement sessions like Cheryl & Gerald’s is what dreams are made of. Soft, buttery golden light, a stunning backdrop, a little moody backdrop (thanks to stormy Mother Nature) and plenty of romance. You really don’t need much else after all. Luckily for us though, these two invited Davish Photography along for the ride and the result? A stunning engagement session that we get the very privilege of sharing with you today!
It was across oceans vast that these two first came into each other’s lives, Cheryl sharing their story. “We actually met in Singapore! I was staying in Singapore back then and Gerald happened to be serving his 2 years National Service in Singapore (as he was a Singaporean previously). So to cut the long story short, we actually met through a mutual friend at one of our church meetings and we developed a friendship but things really only started when Gerald went back to Adelaide and that was the start of our 2 years long distance relationship!”
Gerald decided to pop the question surrounded by friends. “Gerald proposed to me at Kuitpo Forest in Adelaide and a bunch of our close friends were there for the surprise as well. It was magical as he picked a beautiful spot, read a letter that he had written, got on one knee and popped that question. And of course, I said yes!”
Laughter and love is at the core of everything these two share, says Cheryl. “Everyday is an adventure with Gerald. We constantly make each other laugh with our goofy jokes and that’s one more thing that I love about him!”
And on what they love about one another? “We love that we can be ourselves around each other” shares the bride to be. “We have so many similarities like our love for cafe hopping, food and travelling. Most of all, we love that we have mutual respect and understanding towards each other.”
