This beautiful couple had only moved to Melbourne three years ago from Perth and fell immediately in love with the iconic cityscape and moved into the famous Prima Pearl apartments.
We film weddings all across Victoria and we’re often in Melbourne CBD, but Annie and Eddie’s location choices seemed to give us an entirely new perspective that we hadn’t yet seen and made us feel like we were going on a little adventure in our own city. It all started at their Prima Pearl apartment where, after a short period of getting ready with the boys, we headed to the 64th floor for a few whiskeys. The humbling view on every direction over Melbourne and the expression on our faces at the time summed up the wonderful direction this day was taking.
This surreal feeling and the spectacular views didn’t stop there as we headed to see Annie who was getting ready at the Grand Hyatt on Collins Street. From her executive suite, we were treated to an almost identical view looking in the opposite direction across the city and this view even included their own apartment building.
The rest of the day was much more grounded but nonetheless city-centric and very Melbourne. Just across the street from Annie’s hotel and we were at the stunning St Michael’s Church, where these guys were officially hitched. The hustle and bustle of everyday city life really punctuated this experience both before and after the ceremony, with the ring of crosswalk signals in our ears and suited businesspeople walking past. This is something that we were unashamedly enthusiastic to include in their video as it made it totally theirs.
Next were the photoshoots at some iconic Melbourne locations that flowed seamlessly with the aesthetic Annie and Eddie wanted, especially the solo moments spent at the parliament building where we were able to capture the most intimate moments and still maintain the epic backdrop.
Last but most definitely not least, we finished the celebrations at Carousel in Albert Park where, despite the lush green surrounds, still pulled everything together because we could see all of Melbourne across the lake. We took total advantage of this from the moment we entered into the cocktail hour to the last moments in the setting sun. All in all, the whole day gelled in a way that we loved and so did Annie and Eddie because for them it really showed them in their element, which was the Melbourne metropolis.
