We love to shout the accomplishment of our vendor dream team from the rooftops and this week, we’re celebrating Paddington Weddings who created the custom wedding gown for Australia Zoo’s Bindi Irwin. The team told us –
“We had the pleasure of creating a beautiful dress for Bindi’s wedding on the 25th of March. Terri and Bindi came to the studio and fell in love with one of Anne’s designs but then we made it especially for her with a boat neckline and full length sleeves in honour of her mum’s wedding dress. Bindi was over the moon when she realised the Italian lace had sunflowers on and said it had a very special meaning to her. This is how we love to create gowns for our brides, where they love one of Anne’s gowns, then we tweak the design to make it their perfect dress.
Spending time with the Irwins was an absolute pleasure, they are the kindest, loveliest family that were so relaxed and calm, even when wedding plans were changing drastically. ‘Bindi was one of the most kind hearted, undemanding brides I have ever had the pleasure to look after’ says Anne. ‘She couldn’t thank us enough for the work we were doing for her, she even wanted to personally thank my mum Josie who helped at her fittings but wasn’t able to be there for the collection due to us all following Government regulations on social distancing.’
With so many designers to choose from, worldwide, we were so proud that Bindi chose to support an Australian made bridal studio, I think they loved the fact that we are a family business who all work together and they enjoyed watching the team at work.
We were so happy to help in our small way make this wedding happen for Bindi and Chandler and we wish them all the happiness in the world.”

The one genre that has kept my brain sane during these times? Jazz! So this week I could not resist turning it over to Melbourne jazz band Orlando Combo for our song of the week. Imagine these guys playing their very best during your cocktail hour? Or as you swing onto the dance floor!
