Alison Saunders Celebrant is your wing woman at your ceremony. With warmth, caring and a calm, professional approach, Alison is passionate about creating the perfect ceremony and coupled with that she has a great sense of humour! After being in the corporate world, experienced in public speaking, Alison made the leap to becoming a celebrant. Her skills at organisation, and providing a ceremony that is at once fun yet professional, she walks you into your married life with a ceremony crafted to be unique to you – and that really is the most important part of the day. She loves to travel and will be at your destination wedding in a flash if you ask her!
We asked Alison from Alison Saunders Celebrant five questions in five minutes:
What is the most important piece of advice I’d give to engaged couples?
Do it your way!!! In this modern world, there is no such thing as “must” or “should” – personally I’m on a mission to outlaw the use of the word “should” – especially when it comes to creating the celebration that will surround you on the day you come together to be married. If you want to do it – do it. And if you don’t… yup, you guessed it, don’t!!
Tell us about a hidden talent you have?
My hidden talent – baking. I love baking. There is no pastry, bread or cake challenge I’m not up for – souffle, croissant, gooey chocolate puddings, three-tier celebration cakes, 3D dinosaur cake, you name it, I’ve tried it – or it’s on my list!!
What excites me about the wedding day?
The possibility of it all. The magical expectation, the love, the positivity and joy. Two people who’ve made a conscious choice to be together, to celebrate their relationship and commit to each other – whether they do so in front of two best friends or in front of all their family & friends – for me it’s the best expression of humankind’s faith in what’s possible.
What am I known for?
My curly red hair, my smile (which sometimes consumes my face so much that my eyes disappear) and my ability to make people feel relaxed and calm (which comes in handy as a celebrant LOL!)
If you could choose a song to play for the rest of your life what would it be?
One song to play for the rest of my life… eeek, that’s tough, I mean music is all about mood so sometimes I’m in a “New York State of Mind” and other times I’m “Feeling Good” then at other times I’m “All About that Bass” “On a Road to Nowhere” with “Roxanne”, “Jeremy” and “Fernando”. I could keep going…?
