It’s the season of love. There’s no doubt Spring is a special time of year worldwide, but there’s a few destinations where the season really puts on a show. Here’s our guide to Springtime honeymoons to remember:
Land of beauty – Japan

Blessed with everything from big cities to ski fields, Japan attracts couples year-round, but it’s in springtime that things really get interesting. Locals and visitors alike flock to see the blooming cherry blossoms in March and April – thousands upon thousands of light pink blossoms on trees, in the air and on the streets are sure to make your heart swell. Kyoto is always popular, especially along the canal-side Philosopher’s Path, but if you want to get off the beaten path (for Aussies anyway), head to the northern island of Hokkaido, where blossoms bloom a few weeks later.
A whole new world – Disneyland, Anaheim
Want to be a princess on your big day? Keep the tiaras coming with a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. Spring is one the best times of year to pop over to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. It’s California, so the temperature has cooled off, and the kids are still in school (just double check your travel dates don’t coincide with Spring break). With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you can swing by Batuu for some Jedi training on your way to pick up a new Arendelle Aqua Churros – yes that right, Frozen now has its own colour, and its own array of treats, which you’ll find inside The Magic Kingdom.
Spring Racing Carnival – Melbourne

Who says guests just get to wear hats? Celebrate your honeymoon with a trip to the milliner for Melbourne’s Spring Racing season. Whether it’s Derby Day, Oaks Day, or even the other big day in your life, Melbourne Cup, a day at the races is a great excuse to turn a domestic getaway into something extra special. Get your hubby into his tux again and away you go. Make it a Melbourne-affair with a few nights in the new, ultra-luxe Shadow Play by Peppers apartment suites, or go rockstar with a room at the QT Melbourne. Dinners in laneways, days sipping single origin coffee, need we say more…
A Royal Showing – London

Ah London in Spring – there are literally flowers everywhere, hanging from pubs, growing in the grounds of Kensington Park, and of course, at the Chelsea Flower Show. Gardeners flock to the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea to show off their green thumbs – including the royals. Who knows, you might see a royal or two strolling the grounds. Shopfronts and restaurants around the city explode in colourful floral displays so spend your days arm in arm, literally stopping to smell the roses.

Step into the September Issue for real when you hit the Big Apple in time for September’s Fashion Week. These days, the shows aren’t confined to the red carpet – Grand Central Station, Washington Square Park, even the streets of Soho have played host to runways. Grab tickets to one of the open-to-the-public shows in New York to get a sense of the latest trends before hitting 5th Avenue. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the weather – head to one of the open-air markets, like the Hester Street Fair.
