Bruyere & Nelson
Sometimes we tell a couple’s story, and we fall in love with their vibe so much, we kind of want to rock up to their house with a bottle of bubbles and insist we need to be friends. And with the gorgeous Bruyere & Nelson, I am pretty sure it won’t just be me rocking up on their doorstep to soak up some of their sunshine-filled vibes.
The duo, alongside their two furry friends, Charly and Ruby, spent a gorgeous day on the Sunshine Coast hinterland alongside photographer Sophie Baker, for a shoot that not only captured their engagement but also captured the fun, the joy they share together.
It wasn’t always such smooth sailing for the couple, they met in what one might call unfortunate circumstances, Bruyere remembering “When we first met, we were camping at Coolum Beach and Nelson was trying to show off his kite flying skills. Until disaster struck, the strings got tangled, and the kite was destined for impact. The unfortunate target happened to be the middle of my forehead. It was love at first strike.”
On what they love about one another, the couple share “We both share the same values and make each other laugh every day. We are open and honest with each other, and strongly believe that communication is key! We love spending time with our families and our fur babies Charly and Ruby. We are always going on adventures to new and exciting places. Our love is always growing, and we are both excited about what our loved up future will bring.”
It was on the beautiful Moreton Island that these two became engaged. “On November 23rd 2018, Nelson proposed as the sun was setting on the beach at Moreton Island” remembers Bruyere. “He got down on one knee and popped the question. After much jumping and squealing, Nelson had reminded me that he needed an answer so I finally said yes. We were camping with a group of friends for the rest of the weekend, and we celebrated in true camping style with bubbly in plastic cups.”
