Anita & Rex
What goes better together on a sunny Sydney day than love stories and amazing gelato? Why not balloons? Why not all three! It’s exactly this combination that led us to fall just a little in love with today’s happy couple, Anita and Rex. With Photography by Renata joining them for a day in the city, Anita and Rex visited a few of their favourite places – including the restaurant where they had their very first date! What a way to celebrate!
The pair met online, Anita sharing “We met through the dating website, RSVP. Initially, we emailed each other and then we just texted. It was all very natural and the conversation flowed naturally, with lots of silly banter. Our first date was at the Japanese restaurant, Ippudo. The rest is history!”
On what she loves about her future husband, Anita shares “One of the first things that struck me about Rex was that he had a great sense of humour and excellent taste in movies. I love how I can always depend on him. He is also incredibly thoughtful and very romantic. He is the best man I’ve ever known.”
“I was first attracted by her elegance and sense of humour and we connected over our love for Charlie Kaufman films and Seinfeld” tells Rex on what he loves about Anita. “As I got to know her to better I learned that we had many shared values. We’re best friends and we work as a team.”
Rex proposed in the most romantic of ways, tells Anita. “Rex organised a romantic mystery date for me. I was told to pack lightly and be up at 4 am. We drove in the dark to an unknown location. It was there that I realised that we were going on a hot air balloon ride! We ascended into the clouds until at one point we were so high up that we broke through a layer of foggy mist, to be greeted with a 360-degree view of fluffy clouds illuminated with the morning sun. It was as if we were floating in an ocean of clouds. In that perfect moment, Rex quietly asked if I would marry him. I embraced him and said ‘Of course!’.”
