We are always enchanted when we see something different land on our desks and today’s editorial is almost a work of art. Dramatic and Avant-garde, it is inspiration like this that perhaps inspires us to go a little bolder with our wedding choices and appreciate the beauty in the moody.

Inspired by Grace Coddington’s editorial for Vogue Magazine, a dream team of photographers Lovelenscapes,  Simon Flanagan at the beautiful Courtyard on Douglas to create series of images that were in photographer Doruk & Tina’s words “reminiscent of paintings, that would make our audience want to see  the images in larger-than-life size and use them to deck out Old World hotel lobbies in eccentric golden frames.”

Ballerinas, Mia Heathcote and Joel Woellner were transformed as the shining stars, Mia donning beautiful gowns from Anna Campbell  that stole the show with their flowing lace trains, complete with pieces from Little White Couture and Erin Lightfoot Ceramics Design Studio. Her groom dressed in pieces Eton Shirts.

But it was the makeup and blooms that really made this shoot really stand out, hair and makeup artist Leigh McCoy and floral designer Blooming Lovely Bouquets joining forces to create three distinct looks – beautiful blues, dramatic reds and pink and a more classic white. Each look extending the hues of the flowers, to dramatic, unexpected makeup touches. The imagery inspired by the team’s awe of artistic era gone by, Doruk & Tina noting  “We were inspired by the work of Alphonse Mucha, the images intended to be enjoyed as collections of multiple pieces, like his paintings. This was a very special shoot and the team I got together for florals, makeup, hair etc. all worked their hearts out to create something beautiful.”
