Candace & Kodan

It was a beautiful clear Noosa sunset as Candace & Kodan celebrated their engagement with photographer with Mallory Sparkles. The pair dreamt of a session which captured their relaxed, easy going spirits in a backdrop that with its beachside charm, contrasted the location of their hinterland wedding.

And whoever thought fairytales never actually existed hasn’t heard the Cinderella style story of these two! Candace explains “We met 16 years ago as only children. Kodan was skating (he loves to skate and I love to watch him) a parking lot and I thought “he is the cutest boy I have ever seen”. A day later we were walking in the city and I lost my shoe. No word of a lie, I turned around and Kodan was on one knee holding it up, at that moment I knew I was going to marry him. Our very own crazy Cinderella story. It was only when we turned 21 that Kodan told me that was the moment he also knew I would become his wife. We both grew up together on the Sunshine Coast and taught each other a lot about life and love and what it means to chose to stand by a person through all seasons of life. We spent years together and years apart before really deciding that this was a forever kind of love.”

Kodan tells “Candace’s is a bubble of excitement, her smile and energy lights up any room she walks into, I love this about her.
Whatever she does she does with excellence and so I am so blessed that she chooses to put her focus on loving well, not just me but all those around her. She is the most caring and compassionate friend to have and I love her heart that desires others to be heard, understood and loved unconditionally. I love to hear her beautiful laugh and that I get to see the quirky and cute little things she does when no one is looking but me.”

It’s Kodan’s kindness that is the top of the iceberg of what his future wife loves about him. She shares “I love how silly and eccentric Kodan is, he is always loads of fun to be around, he is also the kindest person you will ever meet. Empathetic, compassionate and an amazing listener. When you talk to him he gives his full attention and leaves people feeling heard, encouraged and understood.”

The proposal? The bride to be describes it as utterly romantic. “Kodan took me on this beautiful romantic picnic with fairy-lights and candles and lots of delicious food. He proposed as I bawled my eyes out.”
