Making an impact with your wedding guest favours can be so easily accomplished! These sweet soaps wrapped in thick floral paper and bound with passionfruit vine are a piece of cake to put together! Not only a lovely gift for your friends and family, but a fun and simple wedding DIY that will look absolutely beautiful!
Choose your favourite soap and stock up on some gorgeous floral wrapping paper. These paper wrapped soap favours can be made well in advance and can be tweaked to suit any theme. Just make sure you leave some spare for yourself!
What You Will Need:
- Soap blocks (try to find a lovely soap with reasonably sharp corners, as this will help with folding your paper neatly)
- Good quality wrapping paper in your chosen print
- Double sided tape
- Scissors
- Twine/ribbon/vines to bind your soap with
Step 1. Cut rectangles of paper to generously cover your block of soap on the length, but with approximately 2-3 centimeters only at the short ends.
Step 2. Wrap the soap lengthways, like a present, and secure with double sided tape. The neater the edges and folding, the better the overall product will look once finished. Fold in the shorter ends with precise corners.
Step 3. Secure short ends with double sided tape. Wrap your chosen twine around your small block of soap, and secure by tucking in the end. I’ve used passionfruit vine with the leaves cut off, but you could use dodda vine, ivy, or any other long lasting foliage. You could also use ribbon or raffia, whatever you feel will suit your decor and theme.
These soaps would be a gorgeous gift for a kitchen tea or placed on each setting at your wedding! Stack them high on a gift table and get crafty with your paper and binding choice. There is no doubt this simple wedding DIY will impress your guests, and be a lot of fun in the making!
Ms Zebra Says: It’s such a great idea to gift things that can last – your guests will be able to put the soap into their linen cupboard and be reminded of you and the great time they had at your wedding each time they change the sheets! How lovely!
