There is one Australian designer that is known to make us a little weak at the knees, a designer who has the ability to transport us to a special kind of ethereal wonderland and one that has the very same effect on you. The designer? Adelaide’s Paolo Sebastian.
The launch of the Paolo Sebastian Autumn/Winter 2018-19 couture collection is exactly what dreams are made of. Inspired by the works of the Russian composer, Tchaikovsky the collection is set with beautiful shades of soft blues, sugar plum, marsala toned gardens and classic bridal white. But it is the adornment that makes this collection magic. There is custom embroidery hand sewn snowflakes, crystal embellishments and stunning metal thread detail.
The fabrics are stunning too – wool-cashmere, French tulle and silk chiffon all crafted into pieces that juxtapose the dreamlike qualities that designer Paul Vasileff dreamt up, with the modern styling of structural, tailored shapes – evident in the military style jackets and bolder, cleanly tiered skirts.
Paul shares “This season we’ve moved away slightly from our traditional soft look and focused on incorporating more structural and tailored pieces to compliment the powerful scores and hero the incredible craftsmanship we have in the Paolo Sebastian atelier. It’s essential that traditional couture techniques are upheld and continued as they are the foundations of our industry.“
The collection is available from the Paolo Sebastian atelier.
