Nicolle & Damian
The golden light of Winter makes the most magic colours when it comes to the sea, and when Nicolle and Damien headed to The Blowhole in Flinders for their engagement photos with photographer White Shutter Photography they took advantage of the deep and rugged romance the sea brings to life. I love how the cosiness of Winter clothing – beautiful big blankets, thick jumpers and boots add such a sense of warmth against the elements.
Although the couple met through a mutual friend only four years ago. their paths had actually crossed many times before. Nicolle explaining “The funniest thing about Damian and I is that our paths have crossed many times without either of us knowing. We actually completed the last few years of school together, went to the same parties, graduation etc.. but never once did we come in actual contact with each other. We also worked out we were in London at the same time. ..our flights were minutes apart so we went through the same airport within the hour.”
As lovers of the sea, Damian proposed, of course, by the water. “Damian proposed on Saturday 16th July 2016 whilst swimming in Waimea Bay, Hawaii. The proposal was shared with our Mums and my Aunt who crashed our holiday. Damian had a ring which he had designed with a local jeweller back home.”
“We both enjoy spending time with our family and friends, either out and about or cooking up a storm at home. We enjoy the beach, travelling near or far” says Nicolle on what they love about one another, adding “We value those close to us and our adventures very much. We are both very caring, loving people that just like to have a good time and I guess that sums up what we love about each other.”
“We are getting married in Spring, so, something cosy, cool and coastal seamed great for us. We love our home on the Mornington Peninsula, the diversity, openness and sense of adventure you gain from cliff tops, fields and water are really special to us.”
