Talyse & Brad
When a wedding is filled with the most incredible hydrangeas like this romantic Casuarina wedding, we’re always going to be immediately smitten. After all, there is something rather magical about that soft blue flower when it comes out to play at the most beautiful of weddings, like this one captured by Figtree Pictures.
“I am a very indecisive person and was struggling with whether I liked the dress right up to the week before,” remarks Talyse who chose Paddington Weddings to create her beautiful lace wedding gown. She adds “Other bridal shops we went to were not helpful and quite rude. At Paddington Weddings, they take care of you when making the dress and make sure you are happy during the whole process. It is great going in at multiple different times and seeing the process of the dress made. I felt very comfortable in my dress and was very happy at the end of the day.”
Each of Talyse’s bridesmaids wore a pale blue skirt from Studio 46 that tied together the soft blue colour tones of the day.
The floral arrangements were centred around lush hydrangeas, “I’ve got a lovely friend, who started up a flowers business and is doing amazing work, to create the floral arrangements for the day” Talyse remarks, having booked Floral & Mineral. Adding “She did an amazing job creating an original free bouquet using calming blues, pinks, and whites. I’m not good at decisions so just showed her multiple photos of what I liked and she created a masterpiece which I loved.”
Osteria played host to the wedding, Talyse explaining “It felt the most ‘me’ out of the ones we searched for and also the most affordable. It had a place for the ceremony and reception which we particularly liked and also a backup option in case it rained”. She adds “The staff who helped us organise our day were extremely friendly and supportive with whatever questions I threw at them.”
The bride’s father made the ceremony backdrop for the big day. The bride remembering ” I showed him a photo from Pinterest that I liked and he said ‘I could probably make that’. So he did and it looked amazing.”
The bride chose Ed Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea’ for her walk down the aisle, sung by the groom’s sister.
The groom’s Pa officiated the ceremony, Talyse noting “I didn’t want it to go long. Just short and sweet and to show how much we love each other. We tried to have all our loved ones involved at some point.”
“We had about 15 family members up the front singing ‘Feliz Navidad’ but changing the lyrics to ‘Talyse marry Brad’ (an inside joke from the Stanton family – a sister thought the lyrics said that one Christmas and it stuck). For the weeks after and even months now I still get people texting me saying that they get ‘Talyse marry Brad’ stuck in their heads for a long time.”
Of their photographers for the day, the bride remembers “Figtree was great to have. We had two photographers who also seemed to have fun at our wedding. The photographer who was with the boys seemed to have a ball always laughing at the silly things the boys would do. Kristy was able to capture all the great shots and make us unphotogenic people look good.”
“As everyone says, it was the best day of my life. I loved having a huge bridal party that all got along and had fun and did a hilarious dance with us. I loved the speeches and songs people had written.”
Talyse remembers “Our first dance was a little bit different. We chose Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t stop the feeling’. It started off with just us dancing and then our bridal party of 12 joined us in synchronized moves and also had a battle between the boys and girls. The boys did, unfortunately, win the battle when they ripped their shirts off and buttons went flying and the crowd went wild.”
The couple chose Jason Till to craft a film of their day, capturing the humour and special moments as they unfolded – including that fun first dance!
