Yawen & Arjun

Yawen and Arjun’s light and love filled engagement session, set against the stunning backdrop of the Maroondah Reservoir Park in the Yarra Valley, was exactly the type of engagement shoot the nature loving couple had envisioned.  Their photographer, Samantha Ong, explained that she wanted to be able to capture the beauty of the Australian nature in the warm golden sun with the couple. “Although I’ve lived in Victoria most of my life, I never knew such a beautiful park existed!” says Samantha. “Yawen and Arjun were so fun to capture, because they were so naturally happy and laughing with one another. I didn’t really need to do much – just be there to capture their love filled moments.”

Yawen says that they got engaged in Barcelona. “Being a practical couple, I picked my own ring and just asked him to surprise me with proposal. I did ask that Arjun do two things for the proposal – have a bouquet of flowers, and have the moment recorded. He did really well and caught me totally off guard when the time came!”

Yawen remembers, “We met at a Halloween party! It was at a club; I dressed up as a butcher and Arjun came as Two-Face. He came up to dance with me… and like they say… the rest is history!”

The couple, who love being outdoors together, adore going hiking and enjoying romantic picnics in nature with one another. Yawen loves that her fiancee is always so supportive of her, and so encouraging! Arjun laughs about how he loves that she “puts up with him” and loves him unconditionally; that no matter how bad things can get, they always have each other.
