The modern designs of Suzanne Harward have taken a twist on modern bridal styling. The Chic sophistication is never more evident than in the reveal of the designer’s 2017 collection, entitled “Illuminati”.

The team noting of their inspiration “Illuminati speaks to the heart of women who inspire and possess divine enlightenment or transcendent knowledge. She glows from within and radiates light wherever she goes. She is powerful, electric and bravely pierces the darkness with her all- encompassing light and warmth. She is unashamedly luminous. She is the Illuminati.”  Drawing heavily on the mood of poetry and 18th-century artwork, the designs are left open to the wearer’s own interpretation.

The modern mesh is mixed with decadent gold and silver metallic details. Tones of white, nude and oyster twist the usual concept of “bridal white” with rich fabrics adding an extra element of drama and luxe. My favourite pieces feature sheer bodices, elegant with long sleeves and delicate illusions necklines embellished with the most beautiful of laces.

“Illuminati”  juxtaposes bold, modern statements with the unexpected softness of femininity, leaving the wearer truly able to make the statement she dreams of.
