My fiance Jack and I have been together for almost nine years now and we will be getting married on 3rd of December this year (not long now!)
Jack proposed to me on a romantic weekend getaway in Halls Gap. We stayed at the beautifully secluded Boroka Downs. The proposal was not entirely a surprise as we had been talking about it for some time and I knew it was coming.
The biggest surprise though was when Jack suggested and decided that we would go to Paris to take our engagement photos! Paris is my favourite city in the world; we were there together three years ago and it was just as beautiful as I remembered it to be.
I searched high and low for photographers in Paris and found Katie Donnelly. I instantly fell in love with her style and the photos speak for themselves.
Jack wore a handmade cotton navy suit from Trunk Tailors. I wore a dress that I handmade myself and my shoes were from Sophia Webster.
I was watching the weather forecast like a hawk and we even rescheduled the photo shoot date as the forecast was 90% chance rain for that day. Just our luck, it didn’t end up raining on the original date but was sprinkling away five minutes into our photo session! Nonetheless, Paris is still beautiful in the rain and Katie captured it perfectly.
Jack and I both had a wonderful time with Katie. We were both camera shy and started off awkwardly. However, Katie made us both feel very comfortable and we had a lot of fun. We were talking, laughing, making jokes and before we knew it, the session was over. It felt like we were just spending time with a friend who just happened to be a talented photographer!
Ms Chinoiserie Says: Congratulations Anh and Jack on your engagement; what a special place to have your photographs taken – even in the rain!
