Bonnie & Dan
There is always a sense of relaxed spirit in the country and Bonnie & Dan’s gorgeous country wedding on a private farm with its tipi and twinkle lights captured so very beautifully. Bonnie and Dan chose Tony Evans Photography to capture their wedding day.
Bonnie tells the story, of how she and Dan came to walk down the aisle. “We met at a mutual friend’s 21st birthday eight years ago, it was only three years ago, though, that we connected again and now here we are!”
Bonnie chose Jade Lawler Couture to create her gown, remarking, “Jade created an original design for my gown. The dress was made of french guipure lace and silk tulle.”
Bonnie walked down the aisle to Bob Dylan’s cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” and “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes.
John Murphy officiated the ceremony, the bride remembering, “The ceremony was in the garden under a large willow tree. We wanted it to be relaxed, fun and not too lengthy. Daniel’s Great Uncle was our Celebrant and we had twp readings. The first a Banjo Patterson poem read by Dan’s brother (Dan’s late Grandfather is remembered for his recounts of Banjo Patterson’s work). The second reading by my sister – a poem that was read at my parent’s wedding.”
The couple chose a private farm for the wedding, telling, “By coincidence, my beautiful best friend and maid of honour’s grandfather brought a property in the town where Daniel grew up. He is an avid gardener and art collector and the gardens of the old homestead were perfect for our ceremony and lawn games. The reception was held in Tipis adjacent to the lucerne fields.”
“Daniel’s cousin and best man made our wedding cake which was brilliant and delicious! Not something you would expect of a fitter and turner gone, fireman.”
The newlyweds celebrated with guests under tipis from TipiKata serving up paella from The Paella Pan and a surprise ice cream arrival from Ice-cream Social.
For the first dance, the newlyweds chose Nick Cave’s “Into My Arms”. The bride remarking “We are terrible dancers and didn’t get any lessons, so it wasn’t much of a spectator event. It was a tricky decision between Nick Cave and KC and Jo-Jo.”
Congratulations on your marriage Bonnie and Dan! Thank you for sharing your stories with us! Thank you also to Tony Evans Photography for sharing today’s wedding.
