Sarah & Dan
This Old Petrie Town engagement is from photographer Willow Branch Photography. Sarah and Dan, who met through a mutual friend headed to the gorgeous property just before sunset with their four-legged friend Minnie and documented the start of this new chapter in the lives together.
Dan remembers the story of how he proposed to Sarah. “On the morning of our adventure to Katherine Gorge, we awoke to lorikeets eating our snacks on the deck of our Safari Tent. Sarah dressed in her brightest clothes so I wouldn’t “lose” her in the bush. We set out in our Kia Rio for Nitmiluk. We arrived, found a map and decided Butterfly Gorge was our destination. The nearest place we could swim, some 12km round trip; without exerting too much energy.
After 72 are we there yet’s” and “this better be worth its” and several near face plants, we arrived at a spa sized swamp. I announced that this was Butterfly Gorge. After a few minutes of Sarah cursing, I pointed at the arrow saying Butterfly Gorge this way. Sarah collected herself and again demanded, “this better be worth it”. We continued the walk and once we arrived at the real Butterfly Gorge it was nothing but stunning.
We made our way up to a ledge and while Sarah was busy taking selfies I scrambled around in our backpack for the ring. Dropping to one knee I asked if she would marry me… she replied with “ARE YOU SURE?” In her quietest microphone voice, amplified by the gorge she eventually said YES! This will be one of the happiest moments in our lives.”
On what she loves about Dan, Sarah remarks, “I love Dan’s cheeky smile and sense of humor.”
On what he loves about his future wife, Dan tells, “I love how Sarah is always full of energy and has a great personality.”
what a wonderful story and what beautiful photos.
