It’s so fantastic to see the creative spaces behind some of Australia’s best wedding vendors and this week I am excited to look behind the door of White Events in Mount Hawthorn, Western Australia. Recently named as one of Australia’s top wedding stylists, I was sure this would be one beautiful space!
White Events have been operating since 2005 and with over 17 years experience in event management, owner Lara White sure knows her stuff. Specialising in the planning and production of weddings and events, Lara and her team create drool worthy weddings with an eye for detail and beautiful touches to create just the right look and feel.
As with any growing small business, White Events has had a few different homes over the years. It started with just Lara in her own home and grew to an office and studio in Subiaco and now a beautiful office space that is shared with Paper Fusion, a boutique paper store. Lara tells me that she is thrilled with the location in Mount Hawthorn, a beautiful older suburb enjoying a bit of a trendy resurgence of late. “It’s perfect for us” says Lara, “It’s got this fantastic laid back, modern yet classic vibe”.
As you approach the store there are beautiful big bay windows which give a glimpse into the world of beautiful paper products inside. I imagine sharing with Paper Fusion must come in very handy as well as providing constant inspiration; so pretty!
Just a few steps up on the next level of the store is the home of White Events. A beautiful crisp white office with an etched wood grey sign and funky industrial drop pendant lighting. There’s always an abundant arrangement of foliage, copper accessories, wedding photos and thankyou cards on display. I love that the space is quiet and a little private but still has the buzz from the store.
Lara tells me that there is a great cafe next door where the team love to get coffee from and that the paper store always has new things to admire when they need a quick break.
Lara is also really excited about some new plans for sharing the space with other creatives in the future. The plan is to open a brand new co-working space, which will be available for hire by the hour, day or more permanently on the upper level at Paper Fusion where White Events is located. I love the idea of bringing clients to such a charming space – and I can imagine lots of clients will end up using a couple of these creative businesses!

About Amelia Waddell of Make Your Day Wedding Styling: I’m a wedding stylist and proud store owner who loves to chat weddings with everyone and anyone! I love to talk shop with other business owners (particularly over some chocolate cake!) and am the first to try and have a sticky beak behind the scenes of any event. My free time is spent ‘investigating’ new cafes, stores and events. Make Your Day Wedding Styling is my creative outlet and I love nothing more than that ten minutes just before the guests enter the wedding reception, it feels like a special sort of magic!
