Grace & Victor
I absolutely love the sweet retro vibe of Grace and Victor’s coastal vintage flower filled wedding. Although their original ceremony was moved due to torrential rain, somehow the gorgeous atrium served as such a beautiful and perfect space for their wedding vows. Add to that masses of beautiful blooms and well, you have the perfect way to kick off the day! Grace and Victor chose Julia Archibald to capture their day.
Grace and Victor chose Vue Grand, Queenscliff. “We were married in the conservatory at the Vue Grand. It was actually our back up plan, but due to torrential rain, we moved into the space. It actually turned out really well and looked beautiful, our florist Flower Bird was able to adapt to this and created a beautiful garland which hung from the doorway, which became our backdrop for our ceremony.”
Grace’s bridesmaid wore a patterned dress from Gorman.
Grace walked down the aisle to “Bloom” by The Paper Kites.
Jennifer Greenham officiated the ceremony, Grace remarking, “Our ceremony was beautiful, it was very intimate, we decided to write our own vows and keep them secret from one another, during the wedding ceremony we were able to surprise each other, and we felt that this made it even more meaningful.”
Grace wore the Violet Dress by Rue De Seine , noting “My dress was designed by Rue De Seine, it was the perfect dress for our wedding, it was light, delicate and vintage in style. I bought it from The Bridal Atelier in Armadale, as soon as I saw the Violet dress, I knew that it was the one. Amy who works at the Bridal Atelier was very helpful through out the whole process.”
Of their photographer, Grace remarks, “Our photographer was Julia Archibald. We first met Julia in Northcote, we took a real liking to her, she was really sweet and seemed incredibly passionate about her career, we both felt that we would feel comfortable with her on our wedding day, and on the day she was absolutely fantastic!”
The reception continued inside the hotel, the bride telling, “Apart from the florals, we managed to DIY our entire wedding. With the assistance of family and friends, we were able to gather lots of vintage vases, lace doilies and tablecloths all from second hand stores. Victor, who is a graphic designer managed to design all of our stationery, including invitations, menus and our signage. On the day, we decorated the room using pink and lace tablecloths, giant balloons and tassels which were made the night before by family and friends.”
Flower Bird styled the floral arrangements for the day, Grace explaining, “We wanted flowers to play a major role in our wedding decor, on the day, there were so many flowers everywhere, all our guests raved how magical the room looked. Mary and Sunday from Flower Bird did an amazing job, they were able to recreate the look that we had both envisioned!”
There wasn’t just one cake, there were multiple treats, thanks to Sticky Fingers and Beatrix Bakes. Grace explains, “We were really impressed by our cakes made by Sticky Fingers Bakery and Beatrix Bakes, we decided to have a cake table which looked and tasted incredible! ”
Congratulations on your marriage Grace and Victor! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Flower Bird and Julia Archibald for sharing today’s wedding with us!
