“I had an image of a wedding dress from the USA that I really liked;  it was a simple dress with a fabulous cut out back,” says Tamsin. “I wanted something simple and elegant. I had previously bought an evening dress from Samantha that I adored. I love her simple long-line designs and her attention to detail. Samantha also made me a French lace jacket as I was getting married in Yallingup and was concerned I might get cold – I loved it.”

“When I first met Tamsin she was so lovely and open,” remembers Samantha. “It was evident she loved an incredibly beautiful back on her dream wedding dress. If any client could pull it off it was Tamsin; she had an amazing fit figure to work with! Both of us went through the creative process with inspiration coming from her various photos she had pulled (nowadays the girls’ Pinterest boards are their inspiration.) It was obvious from her first fitting that we were on the same page as one another. Tamsin also wanted a beautiful lace jacket to complement her wedding gown, so we sourced beautiful lace for this too. She was an absolute delight to dress.”

“Inspiration always comes from my clients’ briefs; their personality plays a huge role and then the sourcing of fabrics… in the early 2000’s, my clientele were looking for elegant, sophisticated silhouettes. The mermaid, sheaths and  trumpet designs with fluted hems were most sought after. Bursts of colour appeared on sashes and ribbon detail. It was a beautiful time…
