Liz & Andy
Liz and Andy chose New Years Eve for their wedding near Bells Beach. The location? The family beach house which had been lovingly prepared for the year prior, to hold the celebration that Goldsmith & Co captured today.
“We met in Valencia, Spain at La Tomatina Tomato throwing festival. Been together for 7 years and relocated to New York 2 years ago. Got engaged on the groom’s 30th Birthday.”
The groom and groomsmen wore suits by P Johnson Tailors.
Liz chose a gown by Naeem Kahn, noting, “This was my little bit of New York, a little bit of couture indulgence, the photos capture the detail and craftsmanship of the piece.”
The bride and groom chose the bride’s parent’s property for their wedding day, noting, “Our property is traditional Australiana, Jane and Brett really managed to capture the magic of the landscape in the photos, utilizing the natural terrain, light and shade to capture the moments The ceremony was hosted in a mini amphitheatre style area nestled at the back our house; it was breathtaking to see 180 of our friends assembled in this intimate space.”
Liz walked down the aisle to Stay with Me by Sam Smith, a cover by Jasmine Thompson.
“The arbour was hand made and painted by myself and my father.”
Of their photographers, the bride remarks, “Jane & Brett were very smooth, fun and professional. We had an instant rapport with the couple who made us laugh, made it natural and produced an exceptional memoir of our special day. They are a super team.”
“As the wedding was hosted on our property there was a lot of DIY and a year of preparation – 1 year of blood, sweat and tears by the father and mother of the bride preparing their country property for the big day. 90 square meters of soil brought in to make a flat surface to hold a 180 person marquee.”
All flowers and decorations outside the marquee were arranged by family.
The bride and her mother tied each napkin with string and a sprig of rosemary to act as place cards.
Cookes Food catered the wedding as well as provided styling in the marquee.
“Our lives in New York are frenetic, but for these few days we left that behind us and indulged in friends, family, beauty and detail, it was so nice to be immersed in the whole experience, you don’t get that very often in life.”
“The wedding speeches were an opportunity to say thank you to the people that had poured their heart and soul into not only the wedding but throughout our lives. I was thankful to have the opportunity to let everyone know how special and grateful we were and are.”
There wasn’t a first dance, but as the bride recalls, “When the clock hit midnight we were above everyone’s shoulders with sparklers to the sounds of ‘Empire State of Mind’ – this was the most memorable dance!”
Congratulations Liz and Andy! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us. Thank you also to Goldsmith & Co for sharing today’s wedding with us!
I know this is private property but is there any way to get in contact with the the bride to discuss if it could be hired out? Love everything about it. Thank you x
