Jess & Rick
Jess and Rick chose Bali for their wedding- their all white colour palette and modern touches created a dance that was not only theirs but also spectacular and at home with the amazing Bali landscape. They chose Veli Photography to capture every moment of their day.
Jess tells the story of how they met. “When I was living on the Gold Coast we came in contact with each other through mutual friends.”
Jess remembers, “My something old was a very special surprise from my groom on my wedding morning. When my very special grandma passed away she left me her opal collection. My husband to be made contact with my mum to get these opals. From the collection he chose a white opal and took it to a jeweller, designed a setting for it and got it made into a beautiful ring with a diamond halo framing the white opal. It was such a special and meaningful gift.” Jess chose a strapless gown from Karen Willis Holmes, her bridesmaids in ivory Zimmermann frocks.
Jess and Rick chose Tirtha Uluwatu for their wedding ceremony.
Jess walked down the aisle to Jason Mraz ‘I won’t give up’.
Jess remembers, “Probably the most significant story of the day was when the groom forgot the rings, he only realised just before the groomsmen entered the chapel. Because the traffic was so bad in Bali they had to get the videographer to get on a motorbike and scoot back to the villa and get them…this was all unbeknown to the bride who was wondering what was taking the boys so long.”
Of their photographer, Jess tells, “Our photographer was called Veli, he was a creative and emotive photographer who lives in Bali.”
Jess and Rick chose Pandawa Cliff Estate for their reception which also doubled as accommodation for the bride and groom and their families who all stayed on site. Global Weddings decorating the pool with candles.
Jess notes, “Our wedding day was indescribable….. Words do it no justice, it was a day that felt magical, filling us with an overwhelming sense of happiness, perfect in any way we could have imagined and never ending lifelong memories. It really was ‘the best day of our lives’.”
Of their first dance, Jess tells, “We decided we wanted something different from the slow romantic first dance songs, so we chose ‘And we danced’ by The Hooters. The beginning introduction was slow which then lead into the chorus where all our guests were invited in, this set the tone for the dance floor. It was so much fun and very unexpected by all our guests.”
Congratulations on your marriage Jess and Rick! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Veli Photography and Karen Willis Holmes for sharing today’s wedding with us!
