I love the idea of marrying in a greenhouse – surrounded by sunshine and beautifully cared for plants. So today I thought I would round up my finds for garden greenhouse wedding venues in Australia. My list? Not as plentiful as I’d like, so if you know of any that allow wedding ceremonies, please leave a comment and I can add it to the list!

Palm House, Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney

I think Palm House, Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney is one of my favourite greenhouse wedding ceremony spots. Set amongst the gardens the glass walls and ceiling and brick floor encapsulate the glasshouse feel. The venue comes as a blank canvas so any kind of furniture you want can be used. It can seat 80 for a ceremony or 120 cocktail style.

Glasshaus, Richmond

Glasshaus Richmond

Glasshaus, Richmond is a working nursery and glasshouse so if you’re looking to get into the thick of it, this venue is for you! The venue can hold 100 seated or 150 standing providing the authentic working garden backdrop for your day with exposed beams and transparent roofs.

The Conservatory, Royal Tasmanian Botanic Gardens

Tasmanian Conservatory

The beautiful building of the The Conservatory, Royal Tasmanian Botanic Gardens with its sandstone walls and floors, fountain and glass ceiling makes for a beautiful ceremony space. Able to accommodate 80 people, the conservatory changes its floral displays seasonally.

Bicentennial Conservatory, Adelaide Botanic Gardens

Looking for something modern? Bicentennial Conservatory, Adelaide Botanic Garden is the biggest single-span conservatory in the Southern hemisphere and is filled with plants from Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands and Indonesia. And while you can’t hold your actual wedding inside, the conservatory makes for a striking photography backdrop both inside and out.

Sydney Fernery, Royal Botanic Gardens

Sydney Fernery

Another more modern and grand option is the Sydney Fernery, Royal Botanc Gardens. It’s cavernous roof the most luscious of gardens and is beautifully suited to smaller ceremonies.

The Conservatory, Fitzroy Gardens

Conservatory Fitzroy Gardens

The Conservatory, Fitzroy Gardens is a short walk from Melbourne CBD but one of those iconic buildings that is as special as it is beautiful. The venue opened in 1930 and while it has an intimate capacity and is only available after 5.30pm – its location and beauty is completely worth it. Best part about The Conservatory? The in built seasonal floral arrangements!
