Kate & Tim
As a fellow lover of Winter, I can appreciate marrying in a beautiful place like Lake Crackenback Resort . Kate and Tim loved the region so much, they wanted their guests to experience their favourite place and threw an beautiful, sparkling alpine wedding filled with plenty of sparkling details, styled by the bride. Jen, Miko, and Anthea of Studio Something were there to capture the photographs and a stop motion video.
Kate tells the story of how they met. “Tim and I met on the internet despite having over 100 mutual friends on Facebook and living around the corner from each other. We were destined to be together. Tim and I were snowboarding in Japan at the time, Tim had found a tree swing on the mountain and had set-up a video camera and told me that he wanted to capture me jumping off the swing into the snow, when I jumped off the swing I turned around and Tim was down on one knee.”
The mood of the day was inspired by Kate’s engagement ring. She tells, “We chose a peach, rose and gold colour theme, my engagement ring was rose gold with a peach sapphire so choosing those colours for our wedding seemed appropriate.”
Kate chose a gown by Karen Willis Holmes. “I had always admired Karen’s designs. I love anything sparkly so finding the Kayla dress was a dream come true.”
“We chose the first week of spring as we were hoping that there would still be quite a lot of snow around for our photos . Getting married in Spring was risky as alpine weather is very unpredictable. It was either going to be snow, rain or sunshine and we were very lucky to have a very bright sunny day, It really couldn’t have been any better – we were really lucky.”
Moxom and Whitney created the spectacular bride and bridesmaid bouquets.
The bride’s mother made a two tier pink wedding cake topped with a pink topper from From The Owl.
Misiu Papergoods made the stationery for the wedding day – including invites, programs, menus, table chart, place cards, heart prop used for photos, guest book, bunting for the bridal table and the table numbers. The reception was decorated with gold glitter vases from Lovestar, sequin letters from Miss Poppy Design, gold fringed wishing well and chalk board signs from Ashdown & Bee and strings of tassels by Studiomucci.
Guests received favors of peach schnapps Wild Brumby Distillery .
Kate tells, “We had our first dance to Righteous Brothers – Unchained Melody. ”
Congratulations Kate and Tim! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Studio Something and Karen Willis Holmes for sharing today’s wedding with us!
Gorgeous wedding!
