Jared and I met in 2009 at a church camp, when I was 15, and he was 19. It was then that I decided that he was super mega cute. Nine months later we were dating. He made it official while we were watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy which was pretty cute and nerdy. Four and a half years after we started dating, after many hints and rings circled in catalogs, we went on a Contiki tour around Europe that finished in Paris. At midnight in Paris at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower, Jared dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so beautiful and amazing. The answer may have been a little muffled (lots of tears!), but it was a definite yes. We’ve spent the last year and a half planning, and looking forward to, our wedding. Jared’s now an economist, and I’m in my final year of studying nursing.
My favourite thing about Jared is the fact that he’s so calm and relaxed all the time; nothing ever bothers him. He is strong and reliable, and he gives the best hugs, that make me feel safe and loved, and that he’s always going to be there for me. He is the most amazing man I’ve ever met, and I can’t wait to be his wife!
Jared says: “Lauren is incredibly talented, strong, and the absolute perfect hugging height. She is always so willing to give up her time to help other people with their everyday lives. I love her amazing personality and I know that she will be a loving, supporting, and caring wife, and great mother in the future.”
I went to school with our photographer, Rachel, from Dandelion Kisses. When I first saw some of her school photography projects, I knew that I wanted her to be my wedding photographer. Her work was amazing then, and it’s gotten even better over time. I absolutely adore our engagement shoot. She is so easy going and she is super fun to be around.
Our engagement shoot was shot in a little known Canberra parkland. It’s a gorgeous spot with a variety of settings, and amazing autumn colours.
