Late August is a fitting time for a bridal launch, Spring is swinging in and wedding season is starting to kick off so, in celebration, I trundled down to High Street in Armadale to celebrate Anna Campbell‘s launch of her new collection “Forever Entwined”. I am the newest member of the Polka Dot Bride team and I did not know what to expect. I misguidedly thought it would be models in gowns sashaying down a runaway whilst I would sit in the front row with sunglasses on pretending to be Rihanna. But no, it was a launch with actual cake! Not to mention cocktails! I don’t know what I was thinking, but if they’d thrown puppies into the mix then I may never have left the store.
I very much enjoy Anna Campbell signature style, which I felt she has creatively weaved into this collection. This involves the detail concentrated at the top of the gown, leaving the rest of the gown simple – overall it is a winning formula. Anna’s dresses are never too busy, they can suit a beach wedding and yet look perfectly in place in a church setting. This is not the easiest task with wedding dresses. They also take into account a Bride’s comfort, which is a refreshing element of bridal couture!
Now, onto the details – the cakes, dear Lord, the cakes! They were elegant, simple, not to mention modern – there wasn’t a fruit cake to be spotted. The three-tier style was prominent with puchy coloured flowers piled on to give them balance. I wanted to place the salted caramel number in my handbag and make a mad dash to the door. These marvellous creations are by the phenomenal Cherry Tree Bakehouse who I now have on speed dial. The cocktails also hit the spot, I tested the ‘Lucky in Love’ to verify deliciousness. I love a lemony-vanilla creation, not to mention the very hip glass bottle dispenser that would sit nicely on your kitchen bench!
Other stunning touches were a candy buffet by Sweet Empire, who provided desserts-for-one that sat on rustic tables beside birdcages, crocheted mason jars and table clothes, chunky white candles and bouquets by Flowers in a Vase. Another highlight was the smatterings of Samantha Wills jewellery on display in glass trinket boxes. Stemmed leaves filled the centrepieces giving off a mansion-in-the-country feel to the entire set up.
Congratulations on another divine collection Anna! There’s no doubt we’ll see the creations pop in weddings we post in months to come.
