Jackie and Mark
I always think it’s a special thing to take something historic – in this case incredible Montsalvat and use it as a backdrop for something new – the engagement of Jackie and Mark. The marrying of something old and new, the echoes of history and let’s be honest – just one stunning backdrop! Jackie and Mark chose photographer Bek Smith Photography for their engagement portraits which were captured on a beautiful June day.
Jackie tells the tale of how she and Mark came to be. “Mark and I have now been together for four years. We met at Boutique in Prahran. As my friend and I were enjoying a glass of wine, Mark sat next to me and I felt an instant connection. His smile and warmth drew me closer and closer to him. From that moment on, I knew our love story began.”
On what he loves about Jackie, Mark says, “I love her beautiful smile and gentleness to everyone she meets. I love how she cares for others and her joy for life.”
“We are all about connection, honest moments and making each moment spent with one another magical and memorable. We both feel honoured and privileged to be part of each other’s lives.”
Of their photographer, Jackie remarks “Our photographer Bek Smith is very creative and artistic. She takes beautiful photos of pretty things and genuine emotions. We love looking at photos that we can easily relive as we grow old together and look back at our natural smiles and love for one another. We chose this style of engagement shoot as we want to capture moments that we may not have noticed and have natural/artistic portraits. Our engagement shoot has created amazing golden moments which we will cherish forever.”
On what she loves about Mark, Jackie tells, “I love how Mark is so sweet, makes the most of life and has a loving nature. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. I love how family means the world to him!”
As expected, the proposal was utterly romantic and heartfelt. Jackie recalls, “Mark spontaneously planned a weekend away in Daylesford. After going out for breakfast on Saturday the 5th of October 2013, Mark suggested that we go for a walk to the Botanical Gardens. As we reached a beautiful spot at the Botanical gardens, Mark firstly gave me a letter. He typed a list of things that he loves about me. After I finished reading it, he got down to one knee and proposed. I excitedly said, “Yes”. It was a magical day filled with so much love and happiness. This moment will be cherished forever.”
I like the green grassland, their engagement scene is so romantic.
