Evening gowns are one of my favourite types of clothing, mainly because I get to dream about how each piece could work into a wedding, as a bride or bridesmaid gown. So the fashion week debut of couture label Galanni last month was nothing less of s show stopper and has me dreaming of brides wandering amongst guests in black lace gowns or gold mesh frocks.
The brand launched in 2004 by mother and daughter duo Lenna & Catherine Vasilas who work together to create unique and dramatic handmade gowns that explore the shape of the female form.
To celebrate the brand’s ten year anniversary, they took to the runway with an incredible collection of gowns – from the finale gown in decadent bronze, the sculptural white and black gowns which are so closely fitted to the wearer’s body, the gold and lace detailing, the nude underlays and the dramatic flair. All signatures to the Galanni name.
I love the idea of these on a bride or bridesmaids at a wedding. Dramatic and daring yes, but also different with a touch of individual flair!
