Anna & Dmitry
Anna and Dmitry flew all the way from Russia to marry on Silhouette island, Seychelles. Apart from the fact Seychelles looks warm and dreamy right now in the midst of winter, it looks like the most beautiful place to pledge your i dos.
Claire Morgan captured the wedding photographs- the stunning location and the intimate moments.
For their wedding, Anna says “We chose the Hilton Labriz on Silhouette Island which is just a short boat ride from the main island of Mahe. It is a marine national park, with only 200 inhabitants and the Hilton is the only hotel on the island. We loved the intimate and secluded feel, and of course the beauty of the beaches and landscape!”
“We actually experienced very stormy and rainy weather during our time on the Seychelles, which is common for that time of year. It was raining heavily on the morning of the wedding thus the ceremony was moved indoors (it was supposed to take place on the beach). However as soon as I was set to depart (by buggy) to the ceremony, the weather cleared and we were blessed with beautiful sunshine!”
Anna chose the Papilio by Alena Goretskaya for her wedding gown.
“We had local creole dancers and a band perform for us after the wedding, and we happily joined in the dancing and fun! In the evening Dmitry’s parents sang Russian songs for us and his brother provided the music.”
Of their photographer, Anna says, “Photography was a priority and one of the vital parts of our wedding as we wanted to capture all the emotions and impressions of the birth of our family. After receiving our photos from Claire it is hard to say all the emotions, memories and feelings that were awoken in me. She is an amazing person, a true professional and an outstanding photo-artist. We are so happy and proud that she was our wedding photographer. I felt as if she put a bit of herself behind the photos and as if she went through the same swirl of emotions and worries of the day as we did! ”
Anna describes the day as, “An intimate family affair in a dream destination”.
“For our first dance everyone helped to lay out tealight candles on the dance floor in the shape of a heart. The lights were dimmed and we performed a special dance in the middle of the heart for our family to the ‘Irish Wedding Song’ by Andy Cooney. I used to be a ballerina so incorporated some ballet twirls and moves into the dance.”
Congratulations Anna and Dmitry! Thank you for sharing your day with us Thank you also to Claire Morgan for sharing the wedding with us today!
