Lisa & Ryan
Imagine marrying the person of your dreams surrounded by something you love so much! Lisa and Ryan paid homage to Lisa’s love of horses by choosing a gorgeous horse stable for their wedding ceremony. It was just the first step in a day that was so beautifully Lisa and Ryan.
On how they met? “We met at a conference for lawyers held in QLD, and although there was instantly a strong attraction and connection, we remained friends for over a year building a strong foundation for our relationship.”
Ruby Yeo & Christine Lim captured today’s beautiful photographs, each one beautifully freezing a moment in time for the newlyweds.
Lisa wore a custom made gown with a hairpiece and shoes she had custom made in the USA. Her bridesmaids wore vintage green dresses.
Ryan wore a vintage suit paired with a Ralph Lauren bow tie.
Lisa and Ryan held their wedding ceremony in the horse stables at Avondale Farm. Lisa recalls “We got married in historical horse stables, which my beautiful husband found for his equine loving wife-to-be. We could not have dreamed up a better venue- it was stunning, so warm with all the beautiful rich timbers, and very elegant yet unpretentious- just like us!”
For her walk down the aisle, Lisa chose “Jason Mraz- I won’t give up (everyone was crying- especially the boys).”
Dru Soltys married the couple. Lisa remarks, “Our celebrant must be mentioned- Dru was fantastic, he helped make our ceremony personal and loving and a true reflection of us.”
Of their photographers, Lisa recalls, “These girls are amazing, such talented and warm people. Our guests enjoyed themselves immensely and many unique moments were captured by our photographers with the guests completely unaware.”
Laurelville Manor was chosen for the reception.
Ryan’s sister runs a business in Queensland called Little Cupcakes. She made the wedding cake for the couple. Lisa and Ryan made the stationery themselves, Lisa explaining, “We hand made our wedding invites- vintage themed with laces to match the bridesmaid dresses and pictures of our horses watermarked throughout. Lovely, unique and personal invites, but very very time consuming. We spent over 2 hours per invite! We also used real horse shoes as part of our gift and table setting- we cleaned, polished and hand painted these ourselves. Lots of little hand-made details actually. ”
Of their first dance, Lisa remembers “It was to a very special song to us- Dashboard Confessional’s ‘Stolen’. It was on the first ‘mixed tape’ Ryan made for me many years ago. We love it and it worked perfectly for the dance. Our dance floor was out under the stars and we had a live band all night. Simply perfect- everything about our wedding was perfect! ”
Congratulations Lisa and Ryan! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank yo also to Ruby Yeo & Christine Lim for sharing today’s images!
