You may have planned your wedding and loved every single minute of it, but on the day, you want to soak in the moment without having to rely on either yourself or your bridesmaids, uncles or aunties to pay the dj, light the candles, move chairs and coordinate flowers!
That’s where a wedding coordinator comes into their own. What does an on the day wedding coordinator do? Well as the name states, it is a person who is there on your wedding day to ensure that everything goes to plan and schedule. On the day amongst other things, you will see us running around with our kit (which contains everything from contact sheets, emergency toiletries, panadol etc), to ensure that everything runs smoothly. IMHO, nowadays, a wedding coordinator is an absolute necessity, not a luxury and you will be glad you spent the extra money. Like any event, preparation is the key and usually this involves at least 2-3 months of planning with the bride and groom to ensure suppliers are lined up, timing has been sorted out and all the little details have been thought of and decided on.
Being recently engaged myself, I know that despite the fact that I am a control freak and have experience coordinating weddings before, I will still be hiring one of my colleagues to avoid running around like a mad woman the morning of my big day.
Ms Gingham says: Wedding planners offer many diverse and varied services from full service planning to on the day coordinating. This is a great starting point when considering hiring a professional to help on your day.
Sharon of Wedding Day PA says: “On the day wedding coordinator. I love all things wedding!”
