Jess and Simon

Country South Australia sets the scene for Jess and Simon’s rustic inspired wedding. The bouquets look like they’ve been picked from the garden, the couple’s son plays an integral role in the ceremony and the love story takes it’s next steps.

Jess tells the beginning. “Simon and I first met when we were 5 years old when our mums used to get our families together for play-date. We reconnected again 20 years later when I started going to the same church as he was.”

Photos are by Memory Bank Photography who have captured such a beautiful, elegant feeling for the wedding day.

Jess’ sister in law did the makeup, Jess remembering, “She did eight people’s makeup and her own in a just few hours! She was a absolute trooper! “

Each of Jess’ bridesmaids wore a different white gown. Jess explains “I wanted the girls to have dresses that reflected their own style and personalities so each of the dresses were from a different place. I found my flowergirl’s dress and shawl online from Tutu du Monde, and the girls dresses were from Willow, Carla Zampatti, Wild Child Style Lab at Norwood, Myer and one of the girls already had a dress she preferred to wear”. Jess wore a gown fromJenny & Gerry’s Bridal Centre.

St John’s Anglican Church Norton Summit was chosen for the marriage ceremony. Jess remarks “We had the ceremony at St Johns Anglican Church in Norton Summit. We knew we wanted to have the ceremony in doors and I had a very specific picture in my mind of what kind of church I wanted. Simon is an avid cyclist and spotted the darling little building on one of his rides. As soon as I laid eyes on it I knew it would be perfect!”

Jess remembers, “As I was walking up the stairs to enter the church I brushed my bouquet against my chest and covered myself in bright yellow pollen. It was just as one of my sisters was walking in (Sandy took a beautiful shot of her looking back at me contemplating whether to keep walking or come back and help me!) I freaked out and there was a little bit of chaos as I was frantically trying to brush it off at the same time my dad was trying to get me though the doors of the church! ”

Jess loved, “Being able to have our son participate during the ceremony. Having all dearest our friends with us though the entire day. And the moments we got to spend with Simon’s dad who passed away a few weeks after the wedding.”

Of their photographer, Jess says “Sandy from Memory Bank Photography was amazing to work with, it was like she was an extended member of the family.”

Poppies Flowers created the stunning floral arrangements.

Jess and Simon celebrated with guests at The Edinburgh Hotel.

How Sweet It Is created the wedding cake decorated with fresh blooms.
