Sometimes in life, you get to do things in the name of work that are really, let’s face it, more pleasure than work. This for me, was one of those things. A 2 hour spa treatment and then a tour of the hotel as a wedding venue/honeymoon/hen’s or buck’s weekend? Oh well, if I really must….
I arrived at the Hilton On The Park and was greeted by the valet parking (yes I’m really doing it tough). From there I was led up to the Eforea Spa for my 2 hour treatment. This spa is recently renovated and boasts 7 treatment rooms, a rooftop pool, indoor spa (just in case the Melbourne weather is living up to it’s reputation), gym, sauna and steam room.
I was taken to the changing rooms and directed to change into my robe and slippers.
Then we made our way to the relaxation area where I was served hot herbal tea (delicious) and told to chill out. Now THAT I can do!
My lovely therapist Brooke, started off my treatment with a warm foot bath and a traditional Aboriginal leaf burning ceremony. Burning leaves to relax? It was DIVINE! The smell of the smoke was not stifiling at all and felt rather cleansing. I chose my favourite essential oil blend for the massage (which proved to be quite a challenge for poor Brooke with all my blogger’s back tension but pure heaven for me) and then lay down to enjoy.
After the massage came a manicure and a facial. All the while, cocooned in my cozy bed with cushions everywhere it was proving tough for me to contemplate getting up.
When I finally did get up, I was directed to relax again (oh ok!) and have some more tea. This particular setup would be lovely for a group of girls/guys, on a pre wedding celebration. Go the whole hog and book some rooms and you’re a short tram ride from the Melbourne CBD where you can explore some of the famous restaurants, enjoy the nightlife or do some shopping.
The honeymooning couple will find this hotel a delightful urban getaway too. Book a relaxation suite when you stay here and gain access to the hotel’s executive lounge which boasts spectacular views of the city, tennis centre, MCG and Aami Park. You can enjoy a pre or after dinner cocktail here and take your breakfast with these spectacular views as company.
The hotel caters for weddings too. You can contact the Hilton to find out more here. Thanks to Hilton On The Park and the team at Eforea Spa for taking such good care of me on my visit!
