Larry and Tiffany
Larry proposed at my workplace so we took our engagement photos there, for free with a friend/photographer who used to work with our retired professional wedding photographer turned pastor. He also builds orphanages now.
I built us props to use and planned out locations around my workplace we could go to take photos. We spent the good part of a day walking around, posing for photos, and laughing with our photographer. We could hardly stand the three week wait to see how the photos turned out.
But then our Pastor’s house was broken into and all of his valuables were stolen, including all of his photography equipment. We assumed we had lost all our photos and I was torn between feeling horribly heartbroken about losing all our photos and guilty for not being heartbroken for our pastor who lost so much more than that. Selfishness pretty quickly won out though and I asked if our photos were lost as soon as we saw him. They weren’t – our photographer had kept the SD cards elsewhere and was starting work editing the photos for us!
Two weeks later, she was almost done editing our photos when the computer she was working on deleted all the photos. This time we weren’t so lucky, she was only able to recover about a third of the photos and beautiful as they are, I can’t help but remember all those that were lost. The great poses and places that aren’t shown – like when we were low-riding in the golf cart or when Larry picked me up and spun me around.
Oh well, you get what you paid for. I want to share what we got 🙂
Ms Gingham says: Great story but a happy ending too! These photos are lovely and a beautiful reminder of this time in your lives! Thanks for sharing Tiffany!
Tiffany says: “I am a bride to be that is all about resourcing friends and family to create a more personalized, budget-friendly wedding.”
