Rickard and Johanna
Once upon a time… there was a Swedish girl and boy named Johanna and Rickard who were on vacation in Paris. The year was 2010 and they where in Paris to celebrate New Year’s Eve together. What Johanna did not know was that Rickard had planned this trip for a long time.It wasn’t a coincidence that he one day asked at random if they should take at trip to Paris and in his pocket on the flight to France he had a little engagement ring. On the night of 30 December 2010, he planned to propose to his girlfriend at the hotel room with a view of Seine.
So when the night finally came and Rickard got down on one knee by the bed you could imagine that I was choked up and surprised but shouted out YES! I shouted so loudly that I think even the people on top of Tour Eiffel could hear me! And that was the beginning of how I, a Swedish wedding planner became a bride to be…
In the summer of 2012, a couple of months before our wedding, we took some pictures with the Tour Eiffel theme in Rickard’s parent’s garden in “Småland”, Sweden.
I work as a wedding planner for my own company, Great Weddings by Kajson Event and am used to doing photo shoot stylings for engagement sessions. I wanted to build a personal and romantic set. The Eiffel tower we bought in Paris the day after the engagement was placed on an old swedish wooden box and I baked cakepops in a pastel theme.
The very talented Sara from Dayfotografi was our photographer and we had a playful, fun afternoon in the sun.
When styling your own photoshoot, I recommend you look around in your own home and try to choose the things you love to create a beautiful and personal set. Pillows, blankets, flowers and candy are often easy things to use and will give you a really cozy look. The pom-poms are a simple DIY-project to get your favourite colour in the background and food, cakes and cute drinks make the set more playful.
When the evening came the couple and Sara walked down to the little lake and took the last pictures in the strong wind.

Ms Gingham says: What a tiny place the world has become where we are lucky enough to admire photos that come all the way from Sweden. A beautiful story and a photo shoot to match!
Joahanna says: “My name is Johanna Kajson and Im from the little land far, far away called Sweden. I´m 26 yeas old and engaged with my lovely fiancé Rickard and soon to be his wife Mrs Kajson (or as my mom says, Mrs Kajson jr, it was my mom and dad who created our last name when they got married 30 years ago. My grandfathers name is “Kaj” so after a lot of creative thinking the name came up -my father’s is “Kajs” son and from there we became the first family with the lastname “Kajson”. It´s a keeper!). “
Hurray for the best Photographer! Cool stuff!
How fun to se a Swedish engagement shoot! So many talented photographers (and event planners) in Sweden:)
